Class Experience

Come join me in this FULL CURRICULUM, fun, interactive, and hands on Preschool Learning Circle. In this 3 days a week class, we will learn and practice ALL preschool skills learned in a preschool class. We will begin each meeting with a routine circle time; learning and practicing the months of the year, days of the week, counting the days on the calendar, patterns, and taking turns sharing the weather from where they live, creating a graph. Each child will have their own month's calendar that they will find, circle, and write the new number of the month. They will also use this calendar sheet to practice tracing and writing their name each week, and the mystery letter of the week (this is the letter we learned the previous week). We will learn and practice one letter (identifying, writing, phonics), sight word (identifying, writing, making a sentence, reading a short sentence with the help of pictures), number (identifying, quantity, writing), shape (identifying, drawing), and color (color hunt), and preschool level math skill each week. We will also learn through a theme each week.
Children will learn through books, flannel board stories, songs, props, lessons, hands on activities, and activity sheets. Themes will be used in class to incorporate into our learning. We will also learn Science and Social Studies. For example: magnets, mixing colors, animals in winter (hibernation, migration), life cycles, maps, communities, and more!

**We will build letters, sight words, numbers, and shapes with playdoh**

***Letters will not be taught in the traditional ABC order, they will be taught in the order which is easiest to learn to write.***

1st meeting- Students will participate in circle time. Students will learn and practice a new letter: identification, sounds, and writing. Students will guess the mystery letter by clues and the sound (letter from previous week) and write it.
2nd meeting- Students will participate in circle time. Students will learn new number: identify, writing, quantity. Students will learn and practice a new preschool leveled math skill.
3rd meeting- Students will review sight words, learn and practice new sight word, and writing name practice. Students will learn new color with a color hunt. Students will participate in a themed lesson and activity.
