This class will meet 2 times a week in a 30 minute ongoing class session. An ongoing class session allows students to take the course the whole time or part of the time as they please. This is a great opportunity for those wanting to practice preschool skills this summer. This class is for students beginning preschool or going into preschool again this fall. A good introduction to preschool skills! The students will learn reading, reading, writing, math, music, social skills, science, and social studies. It is so important to engage learners in interest topics helps them find joy in learning! We will cover a different theme each week. Connecting learning to their lives is very important at a young age to encourage learning and growth. We will read books, play games, and make crafts throughout the course of the semester. Each week will have a letter and number of the week. We will practice identifying the letter and number together. Students can expect stories, activities, crafts, songs, and more! We will talk about days of the week, months of the year, weather, and a “favorite item of the day” each class. The outline of the class will be -circle time -story time -letter/reading skill -number/math skill -science/art/social studies connection Teacher provided materials will be announced in the classroom each Sunday night at 7pm ET. Supplies needed will be announced at 5pm ET on Fridays for the next week. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Allana! I have a husband and 3 kids! I currently am teaching preschool/second grade to my 4 and 7 year old children! We live in Florida and love to spend time together as a family. Our favorite things to do are read, go running or for a walk, and have movie nights!
I will be teaching classes for the preschool and kindergarten age students. I love focusing on reading and math. But I enjoy incorporating science and social studies skills at this age as well. I try to take each class and teach many skills to help the students grow as learners. I enjoy teaching interest topics and thematic units. I find that if a student is interested in a topic, they will be more engaged and willing to learn. I value learning that can connect to their lives and guide students to be excited about learning.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (pk-3) with a Reading Endorsement (K-12) from Malone University in Ohio. I have taught in several different classroom settings. I have been a tutor for 6 years. I tutored math and reading for preschoolers-5th graders. I subbed in several classrooms for a semester teaching a variety of ages and subjects. I taught first grade in the classroom for two years. I taught Reading, Math, Science, Character, and Computer. Since leaving the classroom to be home with my kids, I have taught ESL online for 4 years. I primarily teach younger learners sight words and phonics skills. I also now home school my school age children. I have taught on Outschool for over two years to over 1,000 students.
I enjoy watching students make connections and understand a skill and I cannot wait to see your student in the classroom!
