🌷 Spring Savings: $10 off with coupon code DIANNIFUNFLEX10 ! 🌷 Each week, I will post two learning videos, one where I will teach two different letters of the alphabet and the other with learning how to write the letters of the week. I will start the learning video by briefly reviewing the letters from the week before. Students will learn about consonants and vowels and which letters belong to each of those categories. I will also show students the correct way to form both upper and lowercase letters. Videos will be posted of Mr. Jack Hartmann to help think of words that start with each of our daily letters. Pictures of words that start with the letter of the day will be provided to help accommodate learners. I will provide letter cards each class video that includes the upper, lowercase letter as well as a picture that helps with the sound of each letter. I will model each letter and encourage students to copy the exact way as I am saying it. It is important as the teacher to encourage students to say the correct sound for each letter, so I will provide strategies of how to do so. (mouth movement). Phonics skills are very important to early childhood education, and with this class, it will provide students with a great foundation in their phonics development. Learning letters and their sounds are the first steps in early literacy skills, and will help students in the future with reading sight words and blending letters/sounds to create and read bigger words. I also believe that learning should be done in a fun way, so by incorporating a fun yet educating environment will help my learners thrive and help reach our phonics goals! Students will be able to communicate through discussions, and will be expected to upload their complete assignments weekly. Students will use these uploaded assignments in their discussions. I'll open a weekly discussion forum for students to share their successes, ask questions, and expect interactions between each other in the process. Students are required to engage in discussion not only with the teacher but with each other as well. After students upload their weekly assignment, they will then be required to write and/or post a video of themselves to describe what they made. Each week, students will also be required to respond to another student's assignments of the week. During these discussions, students will have the opportunity to discuss, comment, and/or ask questions on each other's assignments. This will promote interaction and engagement among students. I will also upload video tutorials for students to give a better idea of expectations, and model activities on a weekly basis. 👩🏼🏫My Philosophy:
It is my philosophy that teaching should always be done in an environment that is healthy, educational, and most importantly safe. I believe that students thrive when they feel the most comfortable, and by transforming learning into fun activities, it allows students to gain a better understanding on a topic whether they realize it or not! It gives me such pride at the end of each school year when they can showcase their learning talents to their parents! I am excited to meet new students and provide the same type of love and enthusiasm to help reach their highest potentials!
