Beginner Level
In this ongoing class, students will learn french vocabulary while studying a new animal (or an insect) each week. We will learn about their physical features, diet and their habitat. We will also complete a craft and students will get a chance to present their masterpiece. Students will become familiar with colors, numbers, shapes, body parts, etc. in French. This class is designed for students who are beginners in French (no experience), but learners with a little bit of experience in French are welcome. Every lesson is a stand alone lesson, so students can join at anytime as we will learn a different topic each week. Here is the ongoing schedule below: Week of August 4th: Starfish Week of August 11th: Sea Turtle Week of August 18th: Sharks Week of August 25th: Crabs Each class will be structured as: Introduction (5 mins) Students will be greeted by their name and they will be reminded of the animal of the week and the material to have. Lesson (10 mins) We will discuss the animal of the week and learn some vocabulary in French. Crafts & show and tell (20 mins) We will do the craft and towards the end of class, students can share their work. Also, I will provide flashcards after class so students can review the key vocabulary learned in class. Please note that the lesson’s goal is to allow students to get familiar with hearing the language and not focusing on repetition of words and sentences. Students will need scissors, glue and coloring pencils (or markers) for each class. A list of material will be provided ahead of time so you can obtain the remaining materials for the class. Additionally, due to Outschool policy and the nature of this class, I will ask that students keep their camera on for the duration of the session. Also, they must have a working microphone to be able to partake in the lesson
