Preschool Gymnastics and Movement: Multi Week Skill Progression Class
In this 4 section class, once per week, preschoolers will learn basic fundamentals of forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels, and handstands in a fun, fast moving silly environment.

This class is building upon the one time Gymnastics and Movement class, and is for the preschooler who wants a little bit more! This class is geared toward preschool aged students who are eager to move their bodies. We will use several action songs with jumping, running, skipping, tiptoeing etc., combined with body weight activities to begin to introduce the fundamentals of gymnastics. Each class will introduce a new concept in the fundamentals of gymnastics. Forward Rolls, Backward Rolls, Handstands and Cartwheels. All movement is age appropriate and involves precursory movements for these skills. The main learning goal in this class is to have FUN while learning to control our bodies' muscles and movements.
I am a USA Gymnastics certified professional coach. I am safety certified as well as have many other accolades in the coaching field. My teaching and coaching experience has varied from preschool through college. I have over 13 years of experience coaching and love working with my students and seeing them succeed.
After each class, it is recommended that the student practice what we learned in class so that we can build on the concept for the next class.
A yoga mat or gymnastics is recommended but not needed. A pillow nearby is helpful, as well as a water bottle.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Gymnastics is a sport where injury can result if not properly supervised. Please make sure that there is an adult nearby to assist if needed and that there is adequate room for movement as to avoid collision with objects and pets. Since we are constantly moving in class, lots of water is recommended too!
