Preschool Circle Time, Learn, Play, and Discover! X3

To begin our time together we will greet one another and sing a welcome song. 
Each day we will learn and expand upon days of the week, months of the year, letters, numbers, shapes, colors, weather, and emotions. 
-Children will learn the order in which the days of the week fall through song and repetition. We will talk about what days come before and after one another, and practice  using the phrases "Yesterday was", "Today is", and "Tomorrow will be" filling in the appropriate day. 
-Children will determine the current Month and learn the order in which the months fall through songs and repetition, we will discuss special holidays and events as they appear on the calendar. 
-Children will learn how to recognize upper and lower case letters along with basic letter sounds. We will reinforce this concept through songs, books, and games of matching pictures to the correct beginning sounds and talking about specific words that begin with these letters. We will review previous learned letters daily. 
-Children will learn to count and recognize to the number 25. We will practice number recognition through daily calendar and counting to determine the correct date. We will also practice one to one counting of objects and matching it to the correct number. 
-Children will learn to identify the basic shapes of (circle, triangle, square, rectangle, diamond, heart, start, and oval). We will learn how to draw these shapes and practice finding objects around us that resemble these shapes. 
-Children will practice color recognition through observing colors all around us, picking out objects of certain colors, and reading stories about colors. 
-Children will observe and predict weather and seasons around them. We will practice the four seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter) and talk about what the weather is like during each season. Children will become familiar with the weather words ( sunny, rainy, snowy, cloudy, and windy). 
-Children will learn to recognize basic emotions (happy, sad, angry, worried, scared, excited, etc.) and how to recognize how others may be feeling. We will learn these emotions through pictures, songs, books, and role play. 

We will end our time together each day with a goodbye song and farewell to friends near and far. 

I believe strongly in incorporating engaging activities for all learning styles. This circle time will provide little learners with hands on opportunities, visual aids, repetition, and movement so that your child can grasp these concepts through their preferred method of learning
