In this ongoing, small-group circle time, preschool students will get a taste of the French language and learn some basic words and expressions. With the exception of instructional directives, I try to use as much French as possible in class so that students get used to hearing the language. Each session starts with the hello song and introductions and closes with the goodbye song. For each day's theme, I will use fun and colorful PowerPoint slides, realia, and gestures to keep them engaged. The theme may be reinforced through song or movement; I may at times bring my guitar. _______ CLUB NOTES AND REMINDERS: - I do my best to make things clear and engaging in class, but due to their young age, students may benefit from parental assistance, especially if they need help muting and unmuting themselves, or staying at the computer. - All students must turn on their video at minimum once at the beginning of class so that I can verify their identity. - I follow Outschool’s attendance / refund policy for ongoing classes. - I will handle enrollment minimums on a case-by-case basis. In the event that there are fewer than two learners enrolled, if I have to cancel, I will be sure to let you know 24 hours in advance. - Parents will want to be sure their children know how to mute and unmute themselves on Zoom, and manage the different view options.
Learning Goals
Students will gain confidence learning and repeating key words in French. They will learn to identify the difference between English (or their native language) and French through hearing the French language.

I am an educator and teacher who lived in France for over 6 years. I currently give private and group French lessons, and love to share my passion for languages with students. I worked at a bilingual preschool in France in 2015, where I often used music to teach language to my young learners (ages 2-5).
