Pull up a seat and join me for Circle Time! Each day your child will participate in a virtual Preschool Circle Time. We will practice skills like: General Skills: - Greetings - Days of the Week and Months of the Year - Patterns - Color, Number and Letter Recognition - Counting - Name Recognition (recognizing the spelling of your own name and your classmates' names) - Listening, Speaking and Turn-Taking - Using Graphic Organizers to Sort Information Theme-Specific Skills We will explore communities while using related vocabulary terms such as city, country, house, apartment. We will talk about people who work in our community (doctor, nurse, grocer, postal worker, police, firfighter, EMT, florist, etc.) We will use descriptive words to describe pictures of neighborhoods. We will talk about how we can be a good neighbor by being friendly and polite. This is a very interactive class. Students will have multiple opportunities to speak, answer questions, and share with the class. Parents may need to help young children with the "unmute" function during class. Each class will include: - Opening Songs - Calendar & Weather - Theme- Related Activities (sorting, naming, conversation) - Student Share Time - Letter & Numeral Recognition Activities - Closing & Goodbye - Additional ideas and activities will be posted in the classroom each day

I am Teacher Joy, and I can't wait to meet you! I have been working with children of all ages for many years. I spent 15 years as a teacher and administrator in a private K-12 school in America. I have taught classes from Grade 1 to Grade 12! I have also spent 3 years teaching English as a second language online to students ages 5 to 13. I realized that I love connecting with students from around the globe through the use of technology!
I teach a variety of classes. I love to use interactive experiences to help students discover the patterns that guide the way we read, write, and even solve math problems. I believe that a deep understanding of a topic leads to the ability to practice, and later master, the skills that are being taught. I absolutely love to teach reading comprehension and writing skills!
In my classroom your child will be met at her/his level and supported as s/he moves to the next level. My teaching style is welcoming, engaging, and positive. I modify my expectations and approach to meet the needs and levels of my students.
I'm a teacher, a wife, and a mother to a precious 1 year old. I love to have fun, play games, and eat ice cream. I bring my joy and enthusiasm into everything that I do! I hope to see your child in my classroom!
