Class Experience

Schedule will be similar to the following:
1. Greeting/How are you? Students will say hello to the teacher and one another. Students will be asked an "ice-breaker" question where they get the opportunity to share their answer with the class. Students will count the amount of children who picked each answer.
2. Numeracy Activity: Students will count objects that relate to the topic of the week (We will focus on numbers 1-5).
3. Sharing: Students will each get a chance to do a show and share (please relate it to the topic of the week if possible).
4. Music: Students will learn a quick/easy song that relates to the topic of the week. Students will sing, dance, and watch a music video (with permission from the publisher) while doing an activity guided by the video/teacher.
5. Literacy: Students will sing the alphabet and learn the letter of the day. Students will do the letter of the day "chant" (example: D is for Dinosaur D, D, D). Students will start coloring their worksheet (goes along with the theme/letter of the day and will be sent weekly) and will be able to hold it up and show what they have done so far at the end of class (can be completed after class).
6. Goodbye/ See you next time!

**If you are enrolled in a class and feel you would like to switch sections please private message me and I will be accommodating :) If you are looking for a more advanced class I have a similar class (2x a week) that covers additional material such as numbers 1-10, and simple calendar concepts. There is also a 3x a week Kindergarten Class and a 5x a Week Kinder/Grade One class. Please let me know if you have any questions about these classes!

Parents, please assist your child off camera when needed. I try to allow the children to keep their microphones on at all times as I want the children to be able to answer questions and interact with one another; because of this, please find a quiet space in your house for your child to take class. If there is a lot of background noise I will ask that you mute and unmute your child during class time. Thank you for understanding :)

Students are strongly encouraged to participate in class discussion and will be asked questions during class time. However, if a child is not comfortable sharing they will not be forced. As an early childhood educator I understand that students will share when they are ready!

Coloring/worksheets for each week will be posted to the classroom tab by 7PM (MST) the Sunday prior to class (I will try to/often post them early afternoon/evening when able to do so).
Learning Goals
Students will learn foundational skills that will help prepare them for preschool and/or kindergarten.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
During the movement and music portion of class (2-3 minutes) students will be guided through a song/activity and will need an open space where they can march, hop, run on the spot, or skip. Please make sure your child has proper footwear (or bare feet if moving on a surface such as a kitchen floor) so that they do not slip and injure themselves. Your child may also wish to bring a water bottle to class.
