I have my Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in teaching students with learning disabilities. My Bachelor’s Degree is in English and Education. I am certified as a special education teacher for all subject areas. I taught 6th - 12th Grade English, Special Education and Art at Title 1 schools in New York City. I also provided History, phonics, writing and reading interventions to students with learning disabilities. After four years of teaching, I was the Program Director for an early childhood literacy nonprofit. I tutored young children and created educational resources for families to teach children early reading and literacy skills from age 3 through kindergarten. Since 2015, I have been a full time curriculum writer. I am passionate about creating reading and writing materials that engage and inspire children of all ages - even the most reluctant learners! Learners do NOT need any supplies to complete this class. For the optional weekly challenge activities and discussion questions, learners can choose to use their computer/tablet or paper and writing materials.

Parents may need to sit with their child if they are too young to stay focused in front of the screen alone for about 20 minutes. Optional: Students may also need assistance posting video or typed responses to discussion questions and challenge activities.
No materials are required. Every week, I will share 6 books and 6 songs in a virtual preschool circle time. All songs are in the public domain and free to use without risk of copyright infringement. All books read aloud do not infringe on fair use or copyright laws because they use the copyrighted work for a “transformative” purpose that doesn’t harm the core market for the original work as all videos include direct links that promote purchase of the books.
