What's included
2 live meetings
1 in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this class we will meet two times a week for 30 minutes each meeting. We will cover the calendar, weather, emotions, daily question, and a focus activity. The routine and order of events will remain the same to help students to adjust and become familiar with the structure of the class. Practicing how to follow a daily routine is a great introduction into a school routine or helps to reinforce routines at home. Our class is hands on and students are encouraged to ask others how they are feeling each day to create a sense of community but also practice public speaking. Students are never required to speak but encouraged to speak when they feel comfortable. Not only are emotions a great discussion point for little learners but we will have a daily question that will focus our discussion and lead us into our activity, song, or movement piece. Every Sunday before class I will post in the classroom any supplies that are needed. All supplies can be made with basic paper and pencil if you are not able to print a bingo card or name tracer!
Learning Goals
Students will be able to communicate their feelings with others. Students will be able to recognize the number and the name that goes with it. Students will practice the days of the week and months of the year.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, my name is Miss Alex. I am very excited to focus on social emotional development in students who are 3-5 years old. I plan to teach classes about emotions, problem solving, and communication with others. In a young students life these are such important challenges that come up daily and without the proper skills to address them students can easily become frustrated. It is important to teach them the skills for a successful educational career early. I am a Pre-School teacher in a public school in New Jersey and I absolutely love what I do. I believe in the power of play and I believe in importance of discovery. Allowing students to explore the world around them creates the curiosity we need to raise a successful future generation. I started teaching 5th grade Language arts and when my school noticed how heavily I included social emotional learning into 5th grade they felt I should give Pre-School a try and I fell in love!
