In this class we will have all the aspects of the morning meeting in an online class setting. We will meet 3 days a week. Children thrive on schedules and routines. They find comfort in knowing what’s coming next. I would like to give them an opportunity to be ‘part’ of a class without being in a typical classroom building. We will meet kids from all over the US/Canada and possibly throughout the world. I am SO excited to lead this class. We will have LOTS of fun! My goal with this class is to bring some semblance of normalcy and routine to our little ones during these crazy times. They will be able to socialize with other kids, learn preschool basics, improve their communication and listening skills. We will listen to stories, read books, play games, watch fun videos and sing songs. We will have the same routine and structure every day because children at this age learn through and thrive off repetition. According to Judith Colbert, Ph.D, who is a consultant that specializes in early care and education, "By using circle time to create a community where everyone feels they belong, including children experiencing special circumstances, teachers educate children in the best sense of the word and lead them towards participation in a world where they are valued as individuals." This class will be the perfect opportunity for preschoolers to build their own community and connect with kids their own age when they are not able to participate in a typical classroom setting. This is also a great setting for friends who live in different states, cities or neighborhoods to be in the same ‘class’!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Families! I am SO excited to share my love for teaching preschoolers in the Outschool platform. I have taught preschool children for the past three years in person and online for the past few months. With so many of us home right now I want to help your children continue learning and connecting with one another.

My goal with this class is to bring some semblance of normalcy and routine to our little ones during these crazy times. Having children come together during morning circle time was one of my favorite aspects of teaching. It gave us the ability to build our school family, communicate with each other, share personal stories, and learn while having fun. A little about me. I have my Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Soon after, I received my Masters in Elementary Education from DePaul University. I spent 10 years as a stay-at-home mom to my 3 wonderful children. After my youngest started kindergarten, I began teaching at a preschool. I absolutely LOVE teaching preschoolers. I feel like I understand them and secretly call myself ‘the toddler whisperer’. :-) They are just little people wanting to be heard and I love hearing their stories. If you ever want to smile, just talk to a preschooler. :)
I have lots of interests and traveling is one of them. Some of my favorite places that I have visited are India, Dubai, Switzerland, Spain, and Hawaii. South Africa, Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, The Maldives, New Zealand, and Australia are on my bucket list! I love trying new restaurants. My favorite types of food are Thai, Mexican, Indian, and any kind of pizza!! Unfortunately, I have a very big sweet tooth. I can’t seem to say no to anything with chocolate! I love going to see sporting events. The Cleveland Cavaliers is my favorite team although the past few years have been painful to watch. I love going to the theater. One of the biggest joys of my life was going to see the play 'Hamilton'. I enjoy Netflix and chilling. The show I go back to watch over and over again is "The Office.' I love spending time outdoors -- hiking, biking, and walking my dog, Coco. But above everything else, my family is #1 on my list of interests. I find so much joy in watching my children grow and witnessing the little humans they are becoming. I always say that I will be the little old lady at the grocery store one day telling all the customers "Enjoy the time with your kids....it goes by way too fast!"
