Paint, water, sand, play dough or other malleable material. Information for that week will be given in advance but we will be using some messy items to write letters and numbers. US Grade Preschool
During this Flexible schedule class children will learn their letters and sounds, numbers to 10, counting, shapes and colours and Early Reading of CVC words and common words. ● Each video shared we will cover the following; ● Singing hello to all learners and welcoming new learners. ● Playing a warm up game or singing a nursery rhyme. ● Learning a new letter and listening to its sound. Singing a corresponding song. ● Learning a new number, shape or colour. ● Practising what we have learned by going on a scavenger hunt, completing an activity or playing with something messy! ● Singing the goodbye song. Week Commencing: Week 1- learn letters and sounds S and A. Learn numbers 1 and 2. Learn letters and sounds T and P. Learn numbers 3 and 4. Learn letters and sounds I and N. Learn numbers 5 and 6. Week 2- Learn letters G and O. Learn numbers 7 and 8. Learn letters D and C.Learn number 9 and 10. Learn letters B and M. Learn colours Red and Blue. Learn octagon and crescent. Week 3- Learn letters J and K. Learn colours Yellow and Green. Learn shapes pentagon and hexagon. Learn letters L and R. learn colours Orange and Purple. Learn shapes oval and star. Learn letters E and F. Learn Brown and Grey. Learn shapes triangle and circle. Week 4-Learn Letters H and Q. Learn Black and White. Learn shapes square and rectangle. Learn letters W and X. Learn mixing colours. Learn number bonds to 20. Learn letters Y and Z. Learn colours in the rainbow. Learn bigger and smaller. Learn U and V. Scavenger hunt for colours. Learn shapes in the environment. Throughout the classes children will be given the opportunity to practice their skills on paper or on printed sheets provided at the beginning of the week. We may also use sand, play dough, paint, rice and other malleable items to enhance our learning. We will also play games like eye spy. Go on scavenger hunts and discuss what we have learned. We will sing, play games and have lots of fun.
Learning Goals
Students should have learned the alphabet letters and sounds, shapes, colours, numbers to 10 and have a basic knowledge of reading by the end of the 4 weeks.
