Assessment
We will use informal assessment to gauge if they are confident in their knowledge of each set of week When they show mastery of one topic, they may move on to the next after consulting with their adult.Class Experience

**Please reach-out with other scheduling needs, as I may be able to offer tutoring sessions outside of the sections listed** I am able to tailor lessons for your child in the following subject areas: sound and letter acquisition; CVC words, Blends, Digraph and "R" controlled words; pre-reading skills; introductions to parts of speech and more. Please contact me if you have a need for something that is not listed. I do my best to follow Montessori Philosophy while following the needs and nuances of your child For our tutoring sessions, I will reach-out to the adult to inquire about the topic or need for the tutoring session(s). I will create an introductory lesson for our first meeting so that I may observe and evaluate where your child is and what needs they may have at the current time. I will tailor lessons for each meeting to suit the skills on which we are working. I will offer concise feedback, as needed, to the adult so that we can continue to follow the child and their needs. I will include songs, movement and games to keep your child's interest and to support learning with our whole bodies. Parents are welcome to share a certain area of interest their child may have (trucks, dinosaurs, unicorns) and I can find ways to tailor activities for your child. ***Keep in mind this is an ongoing class. Therefore you can subscribe/unsubscribe at any time. Please give notice if you plan on pausing often, as this can affect my availability for others.*** There is no set weekly content, as this is a customized tutoring class. *Parents: Please note that Outschool's policy requires parents to stay off camera during class, so we will communicate the changing needs of your student through classroom and parent messages. Thank you for your understanding!*
Learning Goals

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in English from Hanover College
I have been a certified, lead Montessori teacher for 23 years and have provided dynamic learning experiences for hundreds of students in a variety of subject areas.
I provide a lively learning environment full of songs, movement, frivolity and acceptance. I let all children know that mistakes are okay, and that we learn through them. I have always strived to help each child and parent that I encounter to feel good about and to value themselves.
