Description
Class Experience
In this Music class, students will strengthen various musical concepts, while singing, tapping rhythms, playing bells, playing games, and storytelling! The class structure may look something like this: A "Welcome" song; Vocal warmups; a rhythmic concept for sight singing music; learn a note and play the bells with that note; play a game; read a story; sing the "Goodbye Song" (not in this particular order). Concepts will include: Note reading Solfege and Hand Signs Nursery...
1. Dynamics (Loud and Quiet) 2. Highs and Lows (With Voices and Musical Instruments) 3. Basic Rhythms (Beat vs No Beat, and Rhythm vs Beat) 4. Musical Alphabet 5. Solfege 6. Counting
Learners will need desk bells for this class or the Preschool Prodigies bells app on a separate device to play along. For rhythmic concepts learners may also use items around the house (Tupperware for drums, Rice in cups for shakers, markers for drumsticks, etc).
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will have some video clips from Youtube, and will also use www.musicplayonline.com for most of our other materials.
