Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 8
This class is a review of all 7th Grade mathematics in a short 4-week course.  Learners will learn all concepts and be able to confidently move forward to 8th grade math.  

The following concepts will be covered-

Week 1:
- Review whole numbers up to one billion, comparing and ordering rational numbers, and identifying GCF and LCM.
-  Practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers and fractions.
- Convert between fractions, decimals, and percents, and solve problems involving multiplication, division, and percentages.

Week 2:
-  Investigate perimeter, area, and volume with unit conversions, and explore the relationships between volume and capacity.
- Calculate the radius, diameter, circumference, and area of circles, and practice drawing circles based on given measurements.
- Perform and describe dilations, enlargements, and reductions using scale factors.

Week 3-
-  Find the surface area and volume of cylinders, prisms, pyramids, and other 3D objects using nets.
- Draw and interpret top, front, and side views of objects and explore one-point and multiple vanishing point perspectives.
- Solve real-world problems involving proportions, ratios, sales tax, and measurement conversions.

Week 4-
- Apply BEDMAS (PEMDAS) with and without exponents and evaluate exponent patterns.
- Solve multi-term equations and represent patterns using algebraic expressions.
- Graph inequalities, solve multi-term inequalities, and explore proportional vs. non-proportional relationships.


At the end of this class, learners be prepared for 8th grade math! We will work at the pace of our learners, additional support is available for learners struggling with a specific concept.

Students will improve their math abilities and be ready for 8th grade math standards.
