Class Experience
This is an ongoing class that will meet twice a week. This class is designed to give students the writing tools needed for second grade and beyond. Students will practice their writing each week and apply the learning tools. Introduction: Class will start with a brainstorming activity. Then, I will introduce a new learning tool that we will practice in class (tools include: using graphic organizers, parts of a sentence, grammar and punctuation, and opinion, informative, narrative, and...
This class is taught in English.
This class is designed to give students the writing tools needed for second grade and beyond.
I am a certified elementary school teacher. I teach 2nd and have also taught 3rd grade as well as homeschooled. In addition to elementary school teaching, I also teach ESL to children ages 4-12 living in China.
There will be no assigned homework; however, if students do not finish their writing in class, they may finish after class. I also encourage students to share their writing with their family and friends.
Students will need to bring a notebook (or blank paper) and a pencil. I will provide a graphic organizer before each class, if the class requires it.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Each student is encouraged to bring a notebook to class. We will keep our writing in the notebook. This will show the progress of each student throughout our course.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
