This is an ongoing course that will prepare 5th & 6th grader learners for Common Core ELA Assessments. The course will rotate between reading comprehension strategies and writing skill building using released state exams from across the US.

This ongoing course focuses on teaching learners the skills necessary to be successful on ELA assessments. I will be using various state tests from archived examinations for grades five and six. These could include Common Core assessments or standardized entrance exam tests. This is a serious test preparation course so I recommend a learner takes one of my more leisurely story reading courses before enrolling. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and a Master's Degree in Special Education. I have two New York State certifications in English Language Arts and Students with Disabilities. I have over ten years experiencing assisting students in being successful on Common Core assessments. I have also been a member of the grading teams of ELA Assessments so I am familiar with what scorers are looking for from the test taker.
