We will be reading a story and retelling the story plus answer story related questions. I love to have the children act out the story to see what they remember from the story. We will also go over story vocab, setting, and characters.

Description

Class Experience

We will have so much fun acting out some very common folktales each week! The class will first listen to the story and then use critical thinking skills to answer story related questions. The second and fourth week we will compare the story read with the story read the previous week and find the differences and similarities. Once we have discussed the story, the class will begin to retell the story read. Next, each child will be given a character to act out and we will reenact the story as if...

Student's will improve his or her reading comprehension skills by acting out the stories after they story has been read to them. The student's will improve his or her reading comprehension skills by comparing and contrasting two stories. The student's will improve his or her reading comprehension skills by answering story related questions. Student's will learn how to sequence a story with what happens first, next, and last.

25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
