US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
This class is meant for children who will be starting kindergarten in the fall; either in person or online. The activities reviewed in class will reinforce skills such as being able to grip a pencil correctly to recognizing common sight words. Having mastered such skills will better prepare your child for kindergarten. During this multi-week class we will review: - Letters and sounds -Spelling and writing our name -Proper pencil grip -Rhyming words -Common sight words -Days of the week and months of the year -Classifying objects by size,shape,and quantity -Colors and shapes -Social skills such as listening attentively without interrupting and following multi step directions -Interacting with books and identifying the author/illustrator as well as the setting and characters. Each class will begin with the weather,calendar time,and “question of the day”. Class will end with our goodbye song. Concepts will be taught through class discussion, games, songs, and weekly story time. Week 1 -- 6/10 M- First letter in our name is CAPITAL /use to sand tray to “write” the first letter of our name. Letter sounds. T- Question of the day and/or Book W-“Build” the first letter of our name. Letter sounds. Sight word of the week song/activity. Th-math-how many fingers on two hands song. Intro to10 frame. Number of the week. Week’s review. ——————— Week 2 -- 6/17 M-Letters in our name, the first letter is capital and the rest are lower case. Proper pencil grip-practice writing letters on paper / sand tray. T-question of the day and/or book. W-review letters in our name. Beginning sounds game.Sight word of the week song/activity F- Math: count the letters in our name and show that number on the ten frame. Discuss which names have the most/least letters. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Every Sunday parent’s are given a weekly resource packet in the classroom tab. There are materials that will need to be printed out, so a printer is required to participate in these classes.
Students should also general school supplies like glue sticks, colored pencils/crayons/markers, scissors, and a wipe board with dry erase markers.

**TEACHERS WILL BE READING THESE BOOKS IN CLASS, YOU DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE THEM.
We don't have class during major US Holidays, so the book schedule is planned accordingly. We use these books in tandem with the letters we work on in class. It's great fun!

✨COURSES WE OFFER
We specialize in interactive, exciting online learning for primary school-aged children. We focus on ages 3-8, and we teach a full year curriculum with educational techniques and resources inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia from preschool to second grade. The ones we have had the privilege to work with so far are all homeschoolers, who primarily live in the USA.
Our star classes include English Language Arts, Science, and Math. These classes are modeled with Montessori techniques that have been developed and tested on hundreds of students over the past year.
