Class Experience

Introducing young children to the joy of music! Beginning with silly movement exercises we will get students and families on their feet and ready to engage in singing along with my favorite clownfish ukulele. We will play "Guess That Disney Song" musical trivia and sing along, and interact with a musical picture book. Throughout the lesson we even sneak in some music theory! Every class I teach is appropriately paced to ensure young children are fully engaged and having fun with learning! I look forward to making music with your family!

Hello I am Ms. Friesen and I specialize in elementary music, I absolutely love making music with students in Pre K - 6th grade! I will focus on General Music and Performance: Singing, ukulele, music history, world music, broadway, opera, acting, theater, music theory.

I hold two degrees:
Master of Music in Vocal Performance, Manhattan School of Music (2019) &
Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Simpson College (2017)

I taught general music education in public schools in New York City and the Bronx both in the classroom and online for the 2019-2020 school year. I am so excited to use what I have learned to teach students on Outschool this school year!

It is important to connect students to our world’s history and the great composers of the past. It is essential for young musicians to understand where their favorite music today comes from, and how styles and genres have evolved over time. Not only is music is so important in early child development, it is FUN! Music has completely changed my life and I want my students to feel inspired to follow their dreams like I did when I was their age.
