Pre-School Song Time (Ongoing) Pre K/ Kindergarten Circle Time

 to develop attentive listening skills
 to develop concentration skills
 to recognise patterns of sound and match movements to sounds
 to develop physical skills by using hand actions and movements
 to develop confidence in self-expression of ideas and feelings through singing
 to work as part of a group, being aware of the needs of others
 to develop vocabulary through singing a variety of songs
 to develop listening skills and early literacy through songs and actions
 to develop understanding of numbers and counting though number songs
 to build confidence and social skills

I am a qualified Montessori Teacher.  I have worked in Pre-School, early years and primary Montessori classes for over 25 years.  I also have experience working in a Steiner environment and have undertaken some basic training in Steiner theory.

Circle time is always one of my favourite parts of the day, when we come together as a group.  I love circle time activities, such as singing, reading stories, and giving children the opportunity to build their confidence and social skills by answering questions, talking in front of a small group (if they wish to).

Please note that I am a native English speaker, and speak with a UK English accent.

There is no homework for this class.  However, your child may like to practice singing the songs to you or with you at home in between our meeting times.  Singing with your child, while you do jobs in the house can be a lovely bonding time.

Learners will not be assessed.

20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
