In this ongoing course, students will practice phonemic awareness with an experienced teacher. Phonemic awareness is the ability to hear how spoken sounds are blended and manipulated to make words. Phonemes are the smallest unit of sound in a word. Changing just one phoneme can make an entirely new word! For instance, imagine changing the /c/ sound in cat to /m/. What is your new word? (mat!)
