Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students can expect to learn and experience stretch, strength, and control of their feet, knees, ankles, and hips.
I have danced my entire life, professionally for 5 seasons, taught for many years, and am a graduate of the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts High School with my emphasis in Ballet Performance.
Pre-pointe work should be practiced often for dedicated students. 3 times per week would be ideal. Students in this class can use these exercises on their own as often as they want to achieve their goals.
A chair for balance, a small ball for foot rolling (golf ball, tennis ball, any small firm ball will do), a theraband or stretchy band for foot strengthening ($8-10)
50 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
You’re dancer will only need about 5 ft of space around them, a hard floor is ideal but even carpet can work as this isn’t a highly mobile class. As with an fitness or strengthening class, injuries such as twisted ankles can occur without proper supervision. Muscle soreness is expected, but pain is not. Water bottles are recommended for all dancers. This class is taken barefoot, so no special shoes are required. Any comfortable workout clothes/dance attire is acceptable.
