Description

Class Experience

Mastering the most challenging skills of Algebra 1 will help students conquer the full course with confidence and a feeling of accomplishment. As a professional Algebra 1 teacher, I will guide the class through the core of Algebra instruction with the purpose of long-term mastery. Students will be asked to complete problems during the lesson and independently to show understanding. I will be teaching using ExplainEverything, a TI-84 calculator, Desmos.com, DeltaMath.com, Quizizz.com,...

Students will improve their knowledge of Algebra and utilize their skills to think critically as problem solvers.

I will give students practice to complete each week in Delta Math and other resources. In addition, I will make myself available for assistance by email at any time during the course.

Students will need a pencil/pen, paper, and calculator (TI-84 or 84 is preferred). For iPhone users, the calculate84 app is free and is nearly identical to the ti-84 calculator.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Kahoot
Quizlet
Desmos
Deltamath

Progress will be measured through formal and informal formative and summative assessments.

3 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.

Students will be using common math websites used in the classroom, such as:
