Pre-Latin: The One Course to Take Before You Begin Learning Latin

Angela Kennedy, B.A., M.A.
Average rating:5.0Number of reviews:(79)
In this stand-alone class, learners will revisit the grammar skills needed to successfully learn Latin.

Class experience

Learners will gain a very strong idea on how to put together sentences with the parts of speech, and how that will help them when they begin to translate Latin in future classes. This grammar skillset will also help them in their other language courses, whether they are learning English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Greek! Foundational grammar is also integral to writing clearly and concisely.
Homework Offered
Assessments Offered
I will assess each learner with an in-class assignment and send the information in a written report after class.
Grades Offered
A worksheet and handout will be provided for each learner. Learners may want to bring paper and something to write with to take notes during the class.
I will refer to a Latin dictionary once during the class. I will draw from, but not show, Wheelock's Latin (7th ed.) for the purpose of introducing the Latin equivalent to our English parts of speech.
