Students will gather together to discuss the calendar, weather, and a brief reading and/or math activity. Schedule will be similar to the following: 1. Greeting/Hello Song (1 minute) 2. Calendar: discuss date and days of the week, sing days of the week and months of the year songs (3-5 minutes) 3. Weather: Each child will share what the weather is like in his/her part of the world. We may also discuss weather-appropriate clothing. (1-4 minutes) 4. Letter and/or math activities: Exactly what we do at this time will depend on time. Typically we will learn a letter and do a math activity. Activities for both areas will include songs, finding missing numbers in puzzles, color/shape hunts, using play-doh to make letters, etc. (5-10 minutes) This will be an ongoing class, which means students can attend as many or as few classes as desired and no prior knowledge is necessary. This is meant to be a class that's just a fun way to start the day, build community, and help reinforce what students most likely are/will be learning in school.

Hello! Welcome to Outschool! My name is Teacher Cassandra. I teach Language, Preschool, crafts, Math, and story times. I am a certified teacher with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. I also am certified in Foundational and Advanced TESOL. I was a teacher in a school for 8 years and I have been a teacher on-line for 3 years. I also homeschool. I love to teach and I love making learning fun for my students! I especially enjoy teaching topics that students have expressed an interest in. I try to incorporate hands-on learning as much as possible through a student-centered approach. My goal in my classes is to have my students play an active role in their learning. I have been married to my husband for 11 years. We have a 7-year-old daughter, a 3-year-old daughter, a 1-year-old son, a dog, and a rabbit! I love to teach!
