Beginner Level
In this course students will explore: -Counting to 100 -Number and Word Recognition (a new number each week) -Writing - Addition -Shapes Each week we will focus on activities surrounding a number, building on a new number focus sequentially each week. Students will also have hand-outs to practice and make connections. We will start each class with a song, corresponding kid friendly video, write the numbers, complete worksheets to practice penmanship as well as adding the numbers. We will also explore a shape related the number. Please see the syllabus for the week to week schedule. This class is meant for beginning math students and will be taught with song, visuals and tangible materials. It week will include a fun challenge to gain practice with identifying the number and shape of the week in our everyday lives. We will start with the numbe 0, counting to 10 and the oval shape. We will end with the number 9, shape review and counting to 100.
