What is this class? Students will learn violin basics through the qualities of music that correlate to language (repetition, rhyme and exposure to a variety of sounds) to help develop cognitive learning. This class is designed to enhance learning in areas such as pre-reading skills, pattern recognition, fine motor skills and much more. Students will learn parts of the instrument, proper position, playing on the open strings, bowing patterns, and at least 4 short pieces of music. How is this...
This class is taught in English.
Students will be able to... - Identify major parts of the violin and violin bow - Demonstrate proper playing and rest position of the instrument - Identify and play all four strings on the violin (with pizzicato and bow) - Recognize open string letter names - Perform various short music selections - Aurally distinguish between like and unlike patterns, loud and soft, fast and slow
Parental/family interest and involvement in between lessons is impactful and encouraged! I recommend practicing at least 5-10 minutes a day to reinforce things covered in class even if it's just practicing with the hand motions that correlate to each string.
