Class Experience

Get ready to read with systematic and comprehensive phonics instruction.

Your child will be introduced to one letter of the alphabet and one irregular word in every class. They will receive engaging phonics instruction for each new letter concept and then have fun applying what they've learned with fun skills practice and activities. In every class, students will be able to bring a "letter of the week" item to show and share with the class. After class, students will receive additional worksheets and crafts to continue their learning at home.

This ongoing class will build foundational reading skills including phonemic awareness, visual and auditory practice, and proper letter formation.

In this class, students will learn:
-Letter recognition for upper and lowercase letters
-Letter sounds
-Proper letter formation and writing
- One irregular sight word every week

I like to keep the class sizes small increase student participation and for students to have time to share their "letter of the week" item if they would like to.

I believe successful learning takes place in great environments and I believe you'll find my class fun, engaging, encouraging, and joyful. As an educator and mother, I value kindness and patience and strive to model that for my students.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I've always loved working with children and families, which is what I've been doing for the past ten years vocationally and voluntarily. As a certified elementary educator, I have experience working in traditional classrooms and teaching online.

In the traditional classroom, I've taught K3-2nd Grade. Across other online platforms, I've had the opportunity to teach over 4000+ students from all around the world. In particular, reading is one of the most important aspects of your student's education which is why I have dedicated my time to teaching reading. Reading is an adventure that never ends and I absolutely love teaching it.

I love creating systematic, fun, and engaging environments where students can effectively learn. In my classroom, I enjoy building relationships with my students by providing warmth, encouragement, praise, and personalization to meet each student’s individual learning needs.

I'm excited to continue this journey on Outschool and I look forward to connecting with you and meeting your little learner in one of my classes!
