All lessons are pre-planned, and our syllabus shows a detailed layout of monthly themes! This is a suggested supply list for learners to have on hand: Essential Base Supplies (Used Throughout Year): * Crayons/colored pencils * Scissors (child-safe) * Glue sticks (2-3) * White paper (1 ream) * Construction paper (various colors) * Pencils * Markers (washable) * Small whiteboard with marker * Storage container/art box * Instruments (shakers, drum sticks, etc.) - we can make our own, no need to buy!

I am a professional singer/songwriter and pianist with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Fisk University. My principal instrument of study is voice, and my secondary instrument is piano. I have over 25 years of experience teaching both, private music lessons, and in K-12 level schools! I started out as an early childhood education teacher, and have since gained 10+ years of teaching young children general music. I am a dedicated songwriter, and a digital creator of Early Childhood Education curriculum, as well as a YouTube channel that teaches young children how to read, sing and play music. I have taught musical theatre to high school students for 10+ years, and I have helped schools and churches put on live musicals. I currently train young singers and pianists in the art of musicianship, beginner music theory, technique, stage presence and help them build their confidence! I focus mostly on these key things in my more personalized teaching sessions. I am the founder of Young Musician Academy, where I offer private vocal and piano lessons online/onsite, preschool music classes, and a Worship & Arts clinic for teens. It is my absolutely joy to share this endeavor with my husband, who is also a musician! We have a full house, and it’s quite loud with all of our children lol! It’s no wonder we really love music! Aside from teaching, we love to travel with our children, and try out new restaurants and new foods. We are cooks too! My husband and I write and record Christian music, and truly enjoy creating music together.
