Class Experience

This class for Littles contains the perfect combination of fun and learning! In this lesson, students draw a beautiful butterfly and the surrounding scenery. I help instruct them on the basics, while they use their creativity and imagination to create their own unique work of art. This class is immersive and discussion based (lots of questions and interacting) and I will be encouraging, instructing, and just having fun with my students. All the while, they will be learning about colors and shapes.

(This class is also excellent for young children that are learning English as their second language, as it involves both visual learning and conversation.)

I look forward to seeing your little one in this just-too-fun class!

I am a professional artist, specializing in oil portrait paintings, and I have had the privilege of displaying my artwork in venues across the country. I believe that art is about self expression and learning, and I hope to create a fun, interactive environment where students can develop a love for art while building their confidence in a new skill.
I have always struggled with expecting “perfection” of myself, especially in my art, so I am constantly reminding my students, as well as myself, that perfection is not required, and that practice, not unreasonable expectations, is what a advances our skills.
My joy in teaching comes from the comments of my students and their parents, expressing that they created something they didn’t know was possible.
