I can't wait to meet your learners in this all-inclusive, highly interactive, hands-on Pre-K, Kindergarten/Preschool class.

This is a full-year curriculum for any and all Pre-K to Preschool learners. This is a hands-on interactive class with loads of materials and activities provided during class time and for extra use outside of the classroom.

Included throughout the year are over 1000 resources and activities for in-class and extended learning.

We will meet 4 times per week Monday - Thursday giving your learner a well-deserved mental break on Fridays.

When kids are getting ready for kindergarten, many families wonder about their academic skills. But self-care and social and emotional skills are important for kindergarten readiness, too. Not only will we cover the fundamental academic skills needed for your learner, but we will also cover the social and emotional skills too.

Language skills: Speak in complete sentences and be understood by others most of the time, Use words to express needs and wants, Understand two-step directions, Make comparisons and describe relationships between objects like big/little, under/over, and first/last, Reading readiness skills, Recognize familiar logos and signs, like stop signs, Recite the alphabet and identify most of the letters, Recognize and try to write their own name, Recognize when two words rhyme (like cat and bat), Start to connect letter sounds to letters (like the sound of the first letter in their name),

Math skills: Count from 1 to 10 without skipping numbers, Count beyond 10, Match a number to a group of five or fewer items (“I see three cats”), Recognize and name basic shapes (square, circle, triangle, rectangle), Arrange three objects in the right order (like from smallest to biggest), Name or point to the colors.

Self-care skills: Use the bathroom and wash up on their own, Know and can say their first and last name and age

Social and emotional skills: Interact with other kids, Pay attention for at least five minutes to a task an adult is leading, like listening to directions for an activity or discussing the day’s weather during circle time.

Fine motor skills: Use a pencil or crayon with some control, Use scissors, Copy basic shapes, Make distinct marks that look like letters and write some actual letters, especially the ones in their name, Put together a simple puzzle.

Gross motor skills: Run, Jump with feet together, Hop on one foot, Climb stairs, Bounce a ball and try to catch it.

This is a year long class that you can join at any time. These classes are designed to be taken in any order so you can come and go as you need however learners will benefit from an extended stay.

Important class information
This is an ongoing subscription class. Outschool automatically renews all subscriptions on Sundays. This means you can come and go with your schedule.
Printable resources for the week are provided Sunday before class. If you are unable to print the resources not a problem, your learner can use any paper, chalkboard or whiteboards they are comfortable with.
Extended learning printables will be available on a Friday so they are not confused with what is needed Monday-Thursday.
If the classroom gets loud I may need to mute all students so we can hear each other. Please make sure your learner knows how to unmute themselves or be there to help. As the teacher in Zoom I can only "ask to unmute" and cannot unmute learners on my end.
We will be practising taking turns so I ask learners to put their hands up or use the signal cards (available in the welcome message and weekly package)
