US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
Join this fun and engaging ongoing class, Learners can join and stop at any time. Weeks are not built on prior weeks. The class schedule follows a routine to help students know what is coming next, a very important way to help children feel safe, so they can learn better, develop life skills, and build healthy habits. Music is a BIG part of our classroom since exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. I reinforce learning new words by using fingerplays, songs, and rhymes. These help children learn language by increasing vocabulary, learning the sounds of words, and hearing the rhythm of language. Children can also gain large and small motor skills by performing movements required in fingerplays. The skills students will acquire are as follows: • Recognize each Letter - upper and lower case • Sound of Each Letter • Learn to write each letter - upper case and lower case • Learn American Sign Language (ASL) for each letter • Words that start with the letter of the week through videos and games • PreK Math Skills • Colors • Social Skills • Listening Skills • Self-Regulation • Fine Motor Skills • Gross Motor Skills with Music & Movement • Shapes DAILY SCHEDULE: Tuesdays/Wednesdays: Hello Song Letter of the week and the sound it makes Practice writing the letter of the week (uppercase and lowercase) Learn words that start with the letter through songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and games Music & Movement Goodbye Song Thursdays: Hello Song Show & Tell - learners bring something that starts with the letter of the week to show & tell Goodbye Song We cover one letter per week, going through the alphabet. When we are done with Z, we start all over with A so your learner can start and stop anytime. All activities throughout the class, pertain to the letter of the week. Such as letter H week, we build a House, ride a Horse, and hug our stuffed animal while on letter K week, it is all about Kittens, Kites, and Koalas! This class is ALL-INCLUSIVE and ESL-FRIENDLY. Learners are given many opportunities to interact with each other as well as answer questions during class. I LOVE how the learners become friends and care about each other, showing this compassion many times during class😊. Shy learners gain confidence! Learners are having so much fun, that they don't even realize how much they are learning. Many times in our goodbye song, learners are saying, MORE, MORE. Worksheets are available for those parents who would like to print them to extend the learning after class or use them during our class times. I hope to see your learner in class. It is guaranteed NOT to disappoint! *** Also, If you cannot find a time that works for you, check my flex class at https://outschool.com/classes/a-fun-combination-of-circle-time-art-and-phys-ed-for-prek-and-kindergarten-fa5HShFm#usob8C3odM
