We have 4 LIVE classes Monday through Thursday with 1 recorded class on Friday, which you can watch at your convenience. The recorded class video link will be posted on the Outschool Class page on Thursday evening. ***Great for Homeschool! Perfect for Preschool and Pre-K!*** This class is taught by a degreed teacher with over 20 years of experience in public, private and homeschool settings. In this class, we cover one letter and theme each day. On Outschool alone, this experienced teacher has taught 1768 Learners and counting! *****YOU CAN JOIN ANY TIME!*****Each day has it's own letter and theme.***** "This is the same curriculum that I used for in-person private schools teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten." -Teacher Kathy DESCRIPTION: In this class, your child will get a Circle Time experience including Calendar Time & Weather. In addition, your child will get a complete Preschool/Pre-K curriculum with skills pulled from Pre-K & Kindergarten standards, so this class is appropriate for K5 students as well. You will receive a Weekly Lesson plan each Sunday. It will be posted on the Class Page. It will tell you everything we are learning throughout the week, so you can follow along or reinforce the lesson later. No supplies are required, however it is recommended that you print the worksheets and provide items on the Art supply list so your child can make the Art project along with me or later in the day. The items are usually common household items that you most likely will already have. *****This is an Ongoing class, so feel free to jump in any time!***** Each day is independent of the others. We will cover one letter/theme per day in order from A to Z and then begin again with new themes and concepts. By the end of the school year, your child will have gone through the alphabet approximately 7 times. This method is much for effective at long term retention than simply learning only one letter per week. Through this class, your child will learn... *All the letters and sounds *How to blend *How to read CVC words *How to recognize, write and count numbers 1-20 and beyond. *2D and 3D Shapes *Colors *Math skills from all of the Pre-K standards *Complete together 175 Science experiments *Have heard approximately 175 books read to them Here is the daily schedule: Greeting Time (Every child is greeted by name.) Calendar Time (Month/Count the day/Day of the week) Weather Season Letter of the Day and Theme Introduction (letter recognition, phonics sound, how to write the upper/lower case letters) Letter Recognition - Decorate the Letter of the Day Phonics/Language Skills Activity Math Activity Music & Movement song Science or Social Studies Activity Art Story Time I teach this class year round. I do take major school holidays off and find that most parents want their children off that day as well for family events. For holidays, I will offer a recorded lesson. Also, I sometimes take one week off for vacation each year. I will offer a recorded class option, so that your child can continue learning that week. I will send more details home prior to that week. Please note: This class is fast paced and high energy. I keep the students engaged, so we can cover a lot of material. I greet every child by name during Greeting Time at the beginning of class and when saying, "Goodbye," at the end. I strive to make sure they each feel a part of the class and feel loved and important. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns at all. :) Please note: Outschool requires us to include a note that Christmas may be mentioned in December. In addition, some students may talk about Christmas; Christmas decorations may be present in the background. This class is a great ESL/EFL class. This teacher has taught ESL for 8 years privately and in online classrooms. From the Teacher: I check my messages almost every hour throughout the day. I will try to respond to you quickly, should you need anything.
