In this ongoing class your child will be exposed to experiences like those in a physical pre-k classroom. We will sing songs, play games, participate in movement activities, experience rest time, and learn those basic pre-k skills.

Class experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will learn basic pre-k skills, such as the letters of the alphabet, how to count, number recognition, shape identification, letter writing, name writing, common nursery rhymes and pre-reading skills.
I have over 13 years of experience teaching children ages 1 month to 6 years old. I was a lead teacher and program director at several childcare centers. Throughout the years, I have acquired an associate and bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, along with a master's degree in finance. These experiences have given me the skills to teach young children many pre-kindergarten skills.
Homework Offered
Activities such as printable worksheets to practice pre-writing skills, matching shapes and theme based activities, such as decorating easter eggs or end of the year projects.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Many of the supplies needed for class can be found around the home.
Family photos, crayons, paper, pencils, glue stick, fallen (fall) leaves, water, empty water bottle, small sticks, rocks, flowers, pencils and paper.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
We will use YouTube to watch video clips, such as visits to the pumpkin patch, learning more about weather and different types of pets. Please note that you do not need to have an account with YouTube for your child to access these videos. The videos will be accessed through screen sharing and accessible to all students.

In this class we will use glue and possibly scissors for some crafts. Please make sure that an adult is present during this time. We will have movement activities during the class. Please provide enough space for your child to move their bodies safely, when participating in this portion of the class. A water source and proper shoes should be made available for your child. We will incorporate stretching into our movement activities to prevent injury.
