Description

Class Experience

Students will not only be kindergarten ready and learn all standards needed for kindergarten level, but they will feel confident in their abilities, and gain confidence in themselves.
I have over nine years of teaching experience. I have worked with students from preschool to 12th grade. I have been homeschooling my 6-year-old daughter for three years using curriculum that I have created as well as supplemental curriculum. I have taken training classes on teaching Montessori, and I keep myself educated and up-to-date with teaching methods and practices by reading published articles, taking professional development courses, and reading through new state teaching standards. I also earned my B.A. in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies, where I studied the impact families have on children and how children learn as infants through adolescent years and how they carry that into adulthood and into their own families. Such training and knowledge has equipped me with the tools necessary to be the teacher I am today.
Fun work will be provided to reinforce learned material.
Weekly announcement will include the needed supplies, but these are good to have on hand: Writing paper or white board Pencil Scissors - parental guidance is required for safety Glue stick Markers or Crayons Construction paper Small counting objects (beans, Unifix Cubes, cereal, pasta, or anything small) *If you do not have access to the material, please message me, and I can assist in ideas for your learner! :)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
