Pre-K & Kindergarten Music Class (ESL Friendly!)
Class Experience
This ESL-friendly class is a mirror of the remote preschool and kindergarten music classes I currently teach in a public school system in Massachusetts. At this age, music is best learned and enjoyed through the core elements of active-music making: singing, dancing, moving, chanting, rhyming, keeping the beat, experimenting with instruments or sounds produced using the body, and exposure to varying music styles and prominent musicians of past and present. My classes are highly structured....
- Students will learn and practice: proper singing technique, beat entrainment, a large repertoire of songs and rhymes, basic dance and movement, musical opposites like fast vs. slow, loud vs. soft, high vs. low, and the 5 voices: singing, whispering, talking, shouting, inner.
Assessment
Frequency: available upon requestDetails: Students are assessed based on their level of participation. This is assessed through weekly informal assessments.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
