Do you like robots? Do you want to learn how to code? Come join our Robotics Club! Students will get introduced to different robots while learning how to program online. Teacher will monitor and help students with planning and solving online coding puzzles. **Please note some students may need parent support in the beginning, especially if new to coding.** Teacher will introduce a new robot every week and explain how it works. Students are NOT required to have robots, but it is beneficial if they do so they can practice at home. Here are a few of my favorite robots for coding: Sphero Mini, Blue Bot, Mouse Robot and Botley. Optional: students can also build robots at home using what they have available: (i.e LEGO, DUPLO, Bristle Blocks, recycle boxes, Gears, etc). **New section starts April 15th** Schedule (Subject to change): 4/15/25 - Introduction to Coding and Robotics - Code Drag and Drop and Scrat on Code.org 4/29/25 - Introduce Ozobot - Code Maze Sequence on Code.org 5/6/25 - Introduce Bee Bot - Code Bee Sequence on Code.org 5/13/25 - Introduce Sphero Mini - Code Art Sequence on Code.org 5/20/25 - Introduce BB8 and R2D2 - Code on Code.org 5/27/25 - Introduce to Awbie - Code with Harvester on Code.org 6/3/25 - Introduce Robot Mouse - Loops with Laurel on Code.org 6/10/25 - Introduce Botley - Drawing on Code.org 6/17/25 - Introduce Sprites/Games/Events - Playlab Students will use the following site for coding: - Code.org (free website - login provided by teacher) Students will need a device to access apps listed above.
