Beginner Level
Do you like robots? Do you want to learn how to code? Come join our Coding & Robotics Camp! Students will learn about robots while having fun learning how to program. Teacher will monitor and help students with planning and solving coding puzzles. Please note some students may need parent support while coding, especially in the beginning. Teacher will introduce a new robot every day and explain how it works. Students are NOT required to have robots. Optional: students can build robots at home using what they have available: (i.e LEGO, DUPLO, Bristle Blocks, recycle boxes, Gears, etc). Schedule: Day 1 - Introduction to Coding and Robotics - Botley - Code with Code.org Day 2 - Introduce BB8 and R2D2 - Code with Code.org Day 3 - Introduce Bee Bot - Code with Code.org Day 4 - Introduce Sphero Mini - Code with Code.org Students will use the following site for coding: - Code.org (free website - login provided by teacher) Students will need a device to access site. It is beneficial to join class using a different device in order to view teacher's screen for help.

Students will use the following apps and sites for coding. These sites and apps are free and will not require an account or personal information. Sites and apps are kid friendly.

Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
I love to teach Reading, Math, Spanish, Technology and STEM (including robotics). I love spending time with family, teaching, and running. A little fun fact about me...I run marathons for fun! I can't wait to see you in class.Reviews
