In this four week class, students will learn how to solve Systems of Linear Equations. These types of equations involve two variables. In order to solve equations with two variables, we must alter the equations so that we are left with one variable. During the first week, we will start by reviewing how to graph when given an equation in slope intercept form. We will then use these equations to find the solution to a set of linear equations. We will also practice rewriting equations in...
This class is taught in English.
Students will be able to solve systems of linear equations using three different methods. Students will be able to choose the most efficient method for solving linear equations. Students will be able to solve real life word problems using sytems of linear equations.
Although homework is not required, additional review worksheets will be assigned each week for students that would like the extra practice.
A notes handout and practice problems will be given each week. Extra practice worksheets will be assigned, but not required. If a student does not have access to a printer, they are welcome to copy the notes in their notebook. A calculator is also required.
Although this is not a graded class, an assessment can be provided at the completion of class. Students will have one week to return the assessment if you would like me to grade it.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We use Blooket for review games. We also use Whiteboard.fi as an interactive whiteboard where students can independently show their work without other students seeing their answers. Students do not need to have an account for either of these sites.
