This class will cover the basics on how we derive percentages, how to perform mathematics utilizing percentages, and how they are used in our everyday lives. The following topics will be covered: -Converting Percent to Decimals -Converting Decimals to Percent -Converting Fractions to Percent -Performing mathematics with percentages -Solving real world problems, like sales discounts! Percentages will be taught through my specialized and easy to follow method of Power Point/slideshow presentations. Information will be implemented in a structured and succinct way to ensure learners new to Percentages can easily comprehend and those taking class for review will learn new methods of approach. I reinforce learning through numerous practice problems and a metric to gauge student comprehension. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout class, and if needed, after class. I desire for each and every learner to walk away feeling equipped with the skills and tools to effectively tackle Percentages. Learners should be very comfortable with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and exponents.

I teach any mathematical concept that falls between basic arithmetic to precalculus.
I have a Bachelors of Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut. I'm also a proud veteran of the U.S. armed services.
I find the conventional classroom chalkboard style approach to teaching math is not conducive to many students learning styles. My teaching style brings a visually stimulating and mentally engaging approach to teaching mathematics. I break down steps on how to approach a problem very methodically so students can easily follow along.
