In this 10-week course we will build pre-algebra skill basics including negative numbers, exponents, roots, the additive inverse, and the Pythagorean theorem using digital escape rooms for practice.

## Description

#### Class Experience

Students will be develop mastery of negative numbers and how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using negative and positive integers. Mastery of exponents, roots, how to solve for an unknown using the additive inverse, and the Pythagorean theorem will also be developed.

I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics and have tutored math since 1998.

Digital escape rooms with problems reinforcing the material taught each week will be provided. Time may be given during class time to start working on these but time outside of class may be required to complete.

Worksheets provided by the instructor Pencils Paper Calculator Number block manipulitive (optional but very helpful)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
