Learn a strategy for organizing your thoughts quickly and then practice speaking for 60 seconds on a random topic selected from my post-it board. Fun and engaging!
Class experience
Students will learn a strategy for quickly organizing their thoughts knowing they have only 60 seconds to get their point across. Learners will then take turns choosing a random number from my post-it board which holds 30 random topics for the game and then stand up and speak on that topic for 60 seconds. Students will learn how to quickly organize their thoughts for public speaking. They will: 1- Choose a random topic from the board (i.e. cookies) 2- identify ONE thing they want to share (i.e. Tate's Crispy Chocolate Chip cookies are the BEST!) 3- Identify three bullet points to share that lead you to that conclusion (variety of cookies, variety of textures, the first bite) 4- Practice! Practice! Practice!
I love having fun with my students and calming their nerves around standing up to speak in front of others. I create a supportive space where students feel comfortable taking their turn and trying out some new ideas. We laugh a lot and we also learn a lot from each other!
