Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
Learn and practice grammar while having fun!

This fun class is run over four weeks, learners will have fun and learn about different aspects of grammar.

Each week will consist of a video lesson which the children can watch to learn about the particular grammar point we will be working on, they will then use the knowledge they have gained to play an online escape room which I created for them. They will use the OutSchool classroom to discuss the clues and support each other in solving the game. The children will need to work as a team to work through the game and prove they have learnt the information with this fun lesson.

While this class does not meet live, the children will still be expected to participate by playing the online game with the other students, commenting on discussions in the classroom and making decisions as a class.

The games are created by myself, learners will be given a secure url that temporarily hosts the game so it is only available to members of our class. No additional log ins will be required, once the class ends the url will expire.

Week 1: This week we will learn about punctuation, the children will learn different aspects of punctuation use and practice them in every day sentences. After the lesson the learners will be invited to take part in a fun escape room game, where they can work as part of a team to solve puzzles using the information they have learnt in the lesson. The learners will be expected to complete the puzzles and support each other with clues they discover. The information they have gained about punctuation will be needed to solve the clues and support each other in their escape.

After the lesson the learners again be will be invited to take part in a fun escape room game as in the previous week, learners will be expected to play the game together, supporting each other and solving the clues as a class throughout the week.

Week 3: This week we will learn about adjectives and adverbs, the children will learn how they are different, the time to use each and why they are important in our writing. As with previous weeks, after the lesson the learners again be will be invited to take part in a fun escape room game to use their new knowledge to solve puzzles as part of a team.
