In this ongoing class students will be challenged with their Math Reasoning. If you are feeling a little bored with your regular math classes, then this is the one for you. This will be an interactive class, where students will learn to share their thinking for solving problems and learn from others who see things differently. If you are looking to be challenged by using several math skills to solve a problem this class will do that. Many standardized tests, test a students' math reasoning skills. Students in this class should have a good foundation in basic math skills like: addition and subtraction.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to use math reasoning skills to solve a problem.

Students will need paper/pencil or whiteboard/marker. Occasionally other items may be requested ahead of the next class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello and Welcome to my profile page! I am an elementary school teacher of 22 years. I have been an online teacher and a stay at home mom for 3 years. I have been married for 25 years and have 2 daughters ages 23 and 19. I also have a basset hound named Melody. I enjoy crafting with my Cricut, cooking/baking and road trips with the family.
I graduated from Texas State University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Specialization in Math. For 21 years I worked with Title I students. I worked with children that have Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Special Ed accommodations and GT students. I was also a Girl Scout leader for several years for my daughters.
I am currently teaching online with VIPKID as an ESL teacher. It has been an awesome experience sharing the English Language with the students.
My hope as a teacher is to build a sense of belonging to a group, where students can express themselves in a safe space. I want students to feel they can take chances with their learning and ask the questions no one wants to ask.
My favorite color is purple. My bedroom growing up was lavender and my bridesmaids wore deep purple in my wedding.
