In this one-time course, I will give your child a general introduction to joining the military after high school. We will discuss the following: - the recruitment process - how to set yourself up well during high school for joining the military post-graduation - the difference between enlistment and commission - the difference between active duty, the national guard, and the reserve corps. We will also discuss what a career in the military entails for your child. Whether they choose a four year contract or strive for a twenty year career, they will need to understand how the pay scale works, what benefits will be available to them, and what jobs they may choose from once they take their oath. We will also discuss the different branches of service and the benefits of each, so that your child can find the best match for them!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of each of the branches of the military, and what jobs will be available to them in each. Students will also understand the recruitment process, including the ASVAB test.
