Examples: Identify something positive in your life. 2. Introduction to Positive Thinking (1.5 minutes) Brief discussion: What does positive thinking mean? Examples: Identify if you think positively about yourself. 3. Building Positive Thoughts (6 minutes) Explore positive thought examples about appearance/character and abilities/actions. Activity: Complete sentence starters to create personal affirmations. 4. Staying Positive in Tough Situations (9 minutes) Discuss negative thoughts and common challenges while learning to brainstorm positive responses. 5. Wrap-Up: Reflection (4 minutes) Review positive thoughts shared on the previous slide and take the positive pledge. Key Takeaways: Positive thinking builds confidence and resilience. Hi! I’m Ms. Render, an educator with over three years in education leadership, working with students from 6 weeks to 7th grade. I teach Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Life Skills courses designed to help young learners build self-awareness, resilience, and positive social connections. My courses align with CASEL’s SEL framework and incorporate a unique curriculum I developed and taught for a year in the classroom for grades K-6th before becoming independent.
In addition to teaching, I work part-time as a Creative Brand Director, bringing creativity and innovation to my lessons. I also hold a certification in Major Depression in the Population: A Public Health Approach from Johns Hopkins University, which has strengthened my commitment to mental wellness.
Fun fact: I’m a nature enthusiast and a fan of classic TV shows—they bring out the adventurer and storyteller in me!
