In this class, learners will listen to the book "Positive Ninja" written by Mary Nhin. This book is part of a series called Ninja Hacks and these series teach children of all ages about emotions, life skills, and many other lessons. After listening to the book, students will take part in a discussion about what it means to be a positive person. Students will practice positive affirmations and share (if they feel compelled) positive affirmations of their own. We will pay a few games designed to promote positive thinking.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My husband and I began fostering in 2014. As part of the process to become approved we had to participate in extensive training. After initial training, we participate in monthly training and certifications which include behavior management, de-escalation practices, and many more. In 2016, we adopted our two sons. Our youngest has sensory processing disorder and autism. We've participated in many different types of therapies and training so that we could best help our son meet his mental health, occupational therapy, and physical health needs. During this time, we learned many tips and exercises to help not only our son but many of our foster children. Since then, I have incorporated many of these exercises and other tools in my homeschool based classes and tutoring sessions. Everyone struggles sometimes staying positive and it is my goal in this class to help younger learners gain some insight into positivity and build confidence while doing so.
