Positive Mindset and Confidence Building for Teens

Class Experience

During each meeting, we will discuss the advantages of the positive perspective and the growth mindset.  We will start by sharing something positive and then discuss the week's topic. At the end of class, learners will share something they feel grateful for today. I will teach through stories, discussions, and visuals.  Learners will be writing, drawing, and visualizing.
This class is designed to jump in at any time.  Topics do not build upong each other.

8/26 
The value of words and thoughts:  Every spoken word and thought has an effect on your life.  Let's talk about how that happens.  We will discuss the reticular activating system in the brain that affects what you see and hear every day. Swap the negative self-talk for positive self-talk
8/30.  
Transform your negative thoughts into positive thoughts with the Stop and Swap method. We will also discuss the benefits of having a growth mindset during challenging situations.

9/2
 It’s  all about perspective.  If you are looking for the negative you will find the negative.  Keep training your brain to focus on the positive and look for the positive with the workings of your reticular activating system and gratitude practices.

9/9:  
Use positive affirmations and journaling to train your brain to think positively and plan your future. When you think positively, you feel happier and more confident.

9/16: 
We will discuss anxiety and how to stay positive when people around you are negative and when you are dealing with a challenge.

9/23 
This week you will learn more techniques to lift yourself up and feel more confident such as imagination, Heart Lock-in technique (created by HeartMath), and breathing.

9/30: 
This week you will create an achievements collage to focus on the challenges you have already overcome.

10/7
This week you will learn how to initiate friendshps and create healthy and happy friendships.

Topics will repeat

This is not therapy, but it is a safe place to learn valuable tools to help you live with inner joy! Take the tools and make them habits for a lifetime!
